Spontaneous Crafting

Hey Family, I honestly didn't intend to make anything today- really I wanted to just pack and ship my orders and stay in bed. HA!! I was actually packing an order of these beautiful vintage Japanese glass beads today when the craft bug took over.

As soon as I came back from shipping the destash order. I got busy..and just couldn't stop--well, more like didn't want to..I really didn't have any particular direction with the bracelet not to mention I remember how tedious it is to hand wire wrap each bead to chain. But I loved the color palette so much I just kept going.

added some verdigris patina charms..a nice patina dragonfly.......

I'm still not finished yet LOL..but I won't add too much more. I stopped posting beaded bracelets in my shop because frankly, it's not cheap labor - if you catch my drift. The time and effort that does into these type of bracelets can go for hours if it is a more intricate design, but most of the time goes to the careful wire wrapping, weighing and setting of the chain.

So we'll see what happens with this beauty. I will list her in my shop tonight.

These cute little cubes are a late night earring project I'll finish.

Andromeda-Swarovski Crystal Wire Wrapped Pendant

This pendant was the easiest and fastest idea I worked on. I saw this Swarovski cosmic ring sitting on my craft table all lonely from an unfinished project. I am trying out different " self bailing" techniques on my pendants to eliminate the worry of losing a pendant from a popped or loose jump ring. I think of moms when I make these type of pendant as I have had many test pendant pulled of my old chain by my son on purpose just to see how durable they are.

This type of bail can be worn closed or set apart to have that "crowned bail look while threading the chain or cord through it. Ok...back to crafting.. Let me know what you think so far..

New XOXO Listing

I was inspired to create a bracelet version of the XOXO Wire wrap necklace after receiving a custom order for one yesterday. So why not post another one:-)It's the same style and design as the necklace only smaller:)

The funny thing is I had ordered a bunch of these wooden vintage replica typewriter keys on a "feeling " that they would be a very good seller. I am so glad my "feeling" was right. I've created earrings pierced and now clip ons, bracelets and a necklace. I like that the design is very simple, clean and no gemstones are included. I also love when customers inspire me to create new things.

No Fun with the flu and new listings too:)

Boy what a week! Along with the blessings of several great sales(THANK YOU ) Me and my son caught the flu at the SAME time..Now its bad enough for a adult but a two years old...poor baby. I am ok but I am still nursing him back to health..so you can imagine we are practically confined to the house like two HAZMAT specimen:(

I had my heart set on going to the Handmade Holiday Calvacade in Manhattan, NY tonight..sigh
no go on that one either. I did a little bit of work done.Remember those poetry bead that I posted a few weeks ago?? Here are a few of the ideas I came up with:



















I am so in love with these typewriter keys. I never knew they would be so popular. I have sold 5 pairs of Typewriter key earrings in the past few weeks. I am glad folks love them so much:)

I got this idea from a customer who wanted Hugs and Kisses Earrings with the typewriter earrings.Why not try these in a bracelet?

Simple Inspirations

I honestly have no idea where this idea came from. As was fiddling around with some Vintage materials to see what i could come up with.

I don't believe jewelry should be confined to stone, wire,or metal.






I found this gorgeous cameo That I bought from a destash sale on of course Etsy:) Organza fabric was cut into 6 inch pieces and tied together, than sewn for reinforcement. beautiful burgandy ribbon and waxed leather cord. Crocheted together. and Viola.

As a designer I am becoming more and more curious about how much of an impact does the jewelry industry have on the planet. From "conflict free" diamonds to the issues of gem mining in Burma and more. I really wonder.........

Then I think about what affect is all this digging having on the Earth itself? Are lands being destroyed? Wildlife habitats harmed..Pollution from mining excavations..I dunno...I need to know, I WANT to know.

Funny thing was I was making a new pouch when I looked at the last pieces of organza in my hand. I twirled and twirled till I just grabbed and old recycled brass O ring and some silk cord.

and created this:

I am hooked . A few weeks passed and I thought this would be a nice idea too:



THese are one 1.5 inch long handbraided earring made entirely of braided cotton fabric...that's it.
Secured together in a teardrop shape, sewn closed at the top and tied with blue ribbon.
