Strength-Maintaining Positive Energy Through Art

Happy Monday;-)

I am packing up my things and getting ready to move out of my old apt. As I reflect on the four years I lived there, I remember my son's father having this strong superstition that the apt had a "bad aura" within its walls.

I wonder if he was right as it holds alot of painful memories and some strange instances. I always felt that you make your house your home but still, I do wonder....

I have a whole knew feeling going into the new apt. This will be the first time I will finally have the chance to decorate the walls on my own with artwork that fits our family's energy, artistic expression and personalities.

Pictures of art, music, family and energy inspires me. Bright colors and warm watercolors stir my spirit and make me feel happy. I had the pleasure of purchasing these beautiful prints of original watercolor and acrylic paintings created by Brandy Kazakian Rowe. you can visit her Etsy shop or follow her on Twitter.

Her works is filled with dramatic color and light! Her paintings make me the positive vibes of love, family, consciousness, vibrancy and spiritual energy. I made up my mind to add her artwork to play a major part of the artistic decor of my new home.

I had already purchased the Strength, Courage and Wisdom print a few months ago, it rests right above my computer in my work space. I feel very Zen when I look at her;-)

The photos below are the new ones that I bought from her yesterday. Each one has its own select place in my new apt.

The Strength is to make your place of sanctuary(your home) what you need it to be to keep positive energy flowing at all times. Your surroundings play a key part in the subconscious and conscious mental state of your well being, add things to your environment that will keep you focused on your personal peace.

Balance- Building a Portfolio

I have been trying to build a customer portfolio for some time now. It's been a gradual trickling of submissions from customers who were not too shy to share. So far the most common submissions were from the Blonde Peacock feathers.

I would have never thought that selling peacock feathers in my shop would turn into a new niche-bridal orders and home decor! I made so many custom wedding orders with these blond feathers. It's been a blast to create something so wonderful to help a bride feel beautiful on her special day.

These earrings were made inspired from an original custom bridal order for a bridal party in Orlando,Florida for September 1st.2009. The wedding bridal theme and colors were vintage ivory and silver with a bohemian twist.

This set below is three out of five pairs of earrings for the bridesmaids of a New York bride. for Sept 2009. The wedding color theme was modern romantic with cream, black and dark silver.

This is a picture of a set of Blonde and Dark Teal Feathers that were purchased from my Nyblaque shop from a ceramics artist in Canada. They look great and I love the vase she made to go with them.

I used a dozen feathers to make this centerpiece for myself

and this lovely lady was gracious enough to model the Blond Peacock Feather Beaded earrings for me with her feather print outfit;-) Beautiful;)

I look forward to seeing my portfolio grow;-)
Thanks for visiting.

DIY - Home Decor with Peacock Feathers

Hey Family;-) Happy Labor Day Weekend!

Sorry I haven't been the most chatty blogger lately- things have been a little busy at home, and peacock feathers sales have been the rage in my shop lately. With orders flooding in from the UK and Netherlands and bridal orders from the U.S and Canada, for a flightless bird's it's best features have had me flying!

In my spare time- which I rarely have, I 've been watching the Home and Garden Television Channel on cable. I am fascinated with all the amazing home decor and remodeling ideas used from even the simplest every day items that literally reinvent any home and garden.

During a commercial break I glanced at the bundle of peacock feathers laying across my old Wurlitzer piano and suddenly had an A-HA moment- I have been marketing these peacock feathers towards the jewelry and accessory market, I never thought about Home Decor!!

I grabbed a dozen feathers, an old flower vase and one of my bamboo place mats. I wrapped the mat around the vase and tied it together. Filled the vase halfway with garden pebbles and carefully placed each stem in different spots in the vase so they would stand up straight and pretty.

There you have it - a nice centerpiece for your piano or even a decorative touch to add to your window sill- I couldn't get the best lighting for these pictures but I wanted to just show you to give you some ideas of your own. I will try to post how I actually made the centerpiece later.

I probably won't be blogging for several days again as I am in the middle of moving and working on a bridal order of six pairs of feather earring for a New York State wedding in a few weeks! Plus I just got my hands on some Purple dyed synthetic peacock feathers that should be arriving from upstate soon - I can't wait to see what they look like!

What are you doing this weekend? Did you post today? Share your comment or you blog link in the comment box- remember keep it clean! Thanks for visiting. I hope I inspired you today;-)

Be Well,

Ny
