Balance-From an ABSTRACTVE point of view

I am delighted to feature another amazing fine artist Adi Bussel of Abstractive. located in Haifa, Israel
Adi loves to hear about what people see or feel in her paintings and invited me to comment of her Facebook Fan page:

I figured I would take it up a bit and post a feature on the ones I like the most and why;-) Here are my three favorites.

ETERNAL FLAME - PRINT (15.5'' x 23.5'')

What do I see:A modern bonfire..flames licking up to the sky, it's amber heat and energy raises toward the mid summer atmosphere.

What do I feel: A single couple in a united state of peace, their blue aura reflecting each other contentment-no white light or halos, as blue does not have to represent sadness or depression. Blue is a water color, it can be cleaning, surreal- soft- reflective with a romantic edge.

What I see: The imagination of a child dreaming a rainy day into big beautiful drops of blue cool water color, turning a grey earth below into a deep Caribbean sea.

Thank you Adi for sharing your work with us! You can also view her portfolio here:

Strength-Maintaining Positive Energy Through Art

Happy Monday;-)

I am packing up my things and getting ready to move out of my old apt. As I reflect on the four years I lived there, I remember my son's father having this strong superstition that the apt had a "bad aura" within its walls.

I wonder if he was right as it holds alot of painful memories and some strange instances. I always felt that you make your house your home but still, I do wonder....

I have a whole knew feeling going into the new apt. This will be the first time I will finally have the chance to decorate the walls on my own with artwork that fits our family's energy, artistic expression and personalities.

Pictures of art, music, family and energy inspires me. Bright colors and warm watercolors stir my spirit and make me feel happy. I had the pleasure of purchasing these beautiful prints of original watercolor and acrylic paintings created by Brandy Kazakian Rowe. you can visit her Etsy shop or follow her on Twitter.

Her works is filled with dramatic color and light! Her paintings make me the positive vibes of love, family, consciousness, vibrancy and spiritual energy. I made up my mind to add her artwork to play a major part of the artistic decor of my new home.

I had already purchased the Strength, Courage and Wisdom print a few months ago, it rests right above my computer in my work space. I feel very Zen when I look at her;-)

The photos below are the new ones that I bought from her yesterday. Each one has its own select place in my new apt.

for my bedroom:

My eldest childs' room:

Wandering Gypsy Soul

The Strength is to make your place of sanctuary(your home) what you need it to be to keep positive energy flowing at all times. Your surroundings play a key part in the subconscious and conscious mental state of your well being, add things to your environment that will keep you focused on your personal peace.

A Milestone Accomplished -My 500th Etsy Sale

When 2009 began , one of my persoal business visions was to achieve at least 500 sales as part of my financial presentaion portfolio with Project Enterprise in order to apply for a Small Business grant from NYC Small Business Solutions Entrepreneurial Assistance Program.

I cannot tell how much this means to me as a seller on Etsy that 500 customers said YES to handmade/artisan shopping or simply chose an artisan shop for simple crafting/jewelry supplies- whatever the reason it is a huge support to the indie community and I am proud to one of those shops to provide such a service.

Thank you much to all my supporters, blog readers, Facebook Fans, fellow Twitter Friends, family friends for all your promotions, mentions, interviews, prayers, words of encouragement and love-I hope I made you all proud;-)

and of course my greatest fans my customers- I wouldn't be here without you -THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT! and last but certainly not least, my children you are my rock, heart, soul and my driving force-your light is my beacon of life. Love you forever, Mom;-)

Congratulations to Adornyourself.Etsy.com from Canada for becoming my 500th customer! She will be getting a gift certificate from my shop worth $50.00! Special Thanks to DigitalMisfit for featuring my shop in her new "Handmade Holiday Series" on her blog. She posted my shop news way before I got a chance to LOL!! Thanks Heidi!. Some have text inside them and some don't and range in size from 4x5.5 -5.5 x71/2 I had a blast making these. Here is the feedback I received tonight.

"Nyblaque has the most beautiful hand made cards I have ever had the pleasure to purchase! I loved the first ones I bought so much I ordered an entire box and paid LESS than I would have even at discount stores! I can't wait to start giving them to my friends"-Iced Lilac-Missouri

Custom orders are the best as they give you a chance to create something totally unique and tailor made for the person(s) who wants them.I would love to do have an opportunity to make a set again.

Feature Friday- Awesome Indie Interview with Danielle Designs-12/13/08

I snagged this great interview with DanielleDesigns@etsy.com_ CHECK it out!

1. What brought you to crafting?

Hmmm, that's a hard one to answer since I've been crafting pretty much my whole life! I just love crafting, and I guess I was born that way! Whenever I discover a new project, I throw myself into it with almost obsessive force. Although, I'm like that with most things in my life (I'm a Scorpio, hehe)

2. Where do you receive you inspiration?

Usually my design inspiration comes from a different project. I'll be making one thing, then I'll think of something else, so I'll go start that, and so on, and then I realize I hadn't finished the first thing! I also receive inspiration from my parents, not design-wise, but they've always supported me to do whatever I want and follow my dreams. Also, from the
Etsy community! I decided to start my new section, decoupaged bangles because I saw one on etsy and thought, "that's so cool, I want to do that"!

3. How did you come to find a home on Etsy? do you sell anywhere else?

I found
Etsy a couple years ago, and I honestly don't remember how! I think I maybe saw an ad on myspace or something! Somewhere on the Internet, at any rate. I do not sell anywhere else. I've looked at all the other crafting sites, and none of them seem to live up to Etsy in terms of layout, ease of navigating, and mostly the community section! Who knows, in the future I may branch out, but Etsy will always be my base!

4. What is (are) your favorite pieces in your Shop

Wow that's a really tough question. I love all my pieces, although for some it is harder than others to list instead of keep
lol! Among my favorites would have to be my 'Silver Couture' decoupaged bangle, and also my rainbow rose earrings made from polymer clay, which have 36 hearts and have still not sold!!

5.Who are your favorite artists? Include a link to their site /blog if possible

Well I am also a photographer, so I really love Ansel Adams' work and also Annie Leibovitz (She is AMAZING!!! My Idol!!!) For Etsy artists, I really love artists who find a way to repurpose/recycle in a unique way, like NormalIsBoring, who sells jewelry made from recycled balloons! Or alilyamongthorns, who makes jewelry made from recycled Starburst wrappers! I've done trades with both of them and I just love wearing their earrings and telling people what they're made of! And then of course directing them to etsy! ;)

6.What is the best piece of advice you can give other indie crafters?

Just keep at it. List every day, or as much as you can, and get featured on blogs, any exposure you can. Twitter is an amazing tool I have recently found. I have over 3,000 followers now, and every time I post one of my items, I get about 15 views immediately! It's also cool to personally connect with other Etsy Artists and other people on twitter who might not know about etsy.

Here's my twitter: http://twitter.com/DaniellsDesigns. I love new twitter friends and I follow everyone back! I'll also be glad to answer any questions about twitter or etsy for any of you newbies out there!

7. In your opinion, why do you think that buying and selling handmade products benefits society?

I just love everything about it! For one thing, it supports individual artists, not huge corporations where the income is distributed very unevenly between the CEO and the average worker. And the community it so fun! To me, the whole process is just more loving than going to WalMart! The products are made with love, you respect the artist so much more, and there is a personal touch! I could go on and on about this, but I think if you are reading this blog you know what I am talking about. :)

8. What are your goals for 2009?

I would love to sell more of my new decoupaged bangles, I just got into it and I am loving it, and I would love to get feedback that it is a worthwhile venture. Here is the section: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5263188&section_id=5802382
I've sold one so far, but if I don't end up selling any, I will just keep them all to wear for myself! No loss there! I don't really have any definite goals, but I plan on listing one item every day, although that usually doesn't last very long! Anyway, a big thank you to you Nyblaque for featuring me on your blog! And thank you to everyone reading this! :)

Thank you Danielle for sharing your amazing work with us!
